Ratings, voltage and returns

What joule rating do I need?

For a phone charger or lamp, 500-1000J is adequate. For a desktop, monitor and peripherals, look for 2000J or more. The rating is the total energy the strip can absorb over its life, so higher means longer protection.

Will a travel adapter run my appliance abroad?

An adapter only changes the plug shape. A converter changes voltage, and its wattage rating is the limit. Our 250W converter suits chargers and shavers, not hair dryers or kettles.

Do you ship outside New York?

Yes, to all 50 US states. Free over $75, flat $4.99 below that, 4-9 business days door to door.

Can I return an opened item?

Returns are accepted within 30 days provided the item is unopened and in its original packaging. Return postage is yours for a change of mind; we cover it if the item is faulty or we sent the wrong part.

Is the fingerprint lock suitable for a rental?

It replaces a standard deadbolt and can be reversed at move-out if you keep the original hardware. Check your lease before drilling anything.

Are you really open on Saturdays around the clock?

Yes. Our Mt Vernon counter at 10 S 4th Ave runs 24 hours on Saturday; the rest of the week is Monday to Thursday 10:00-19:30, Friday 10:00-14:00, Sunday 10:00-18:00.

• Cost: free over $75; a flat $4.99 below that.
• Timing: 1-2 business days to pack, 3-7 business days in transit, so 4-9 business days in total.
• Returns: 30 days from delivery, with a prepaid return label included in the parcel.
